We all know that loud noise can damage your hearing-but it seems not enough noise can also damage it. People in cities who are exposed to a lot of noise have better hearing than the people who live in quiet villages.
People who are exposed to very loud noises as part of their jobs, people who are in construction work, had very poor hearing. But the people living in quiet rural areas, did not have better hearing. Pilots or orchestral musicians, who are in constant noisy environment, are able to hear better. Firefighters, whose lives depend on sounds, have exceptional hearing power.
Continual exposure to noise, actually trains the ear to tolerate it; only it is the sudden, extreme noise that damages the ear . Villagers who lead a quiet life, when they come across occasional firework celebrations, have the worst hearing of all.
Pedal your way to good health
Cycling is one of the most all-round forms of exercise, it benefits the joints, the cardiovascular system and the immune system and helps in fighting back pain. When a child cycles just 2 km to school and back each day, he can burn nearly 6 kg of fat a year.
More and more families now own cars or scooters, and very few are willing to cycle. when you cycle it is important, the bicycle should be in the right size for you and the height and angle of the saddle and handlebars should have been correctly adjusted.
